Gerry Ebbers Retires from SCSBC

With this issue of The Link, we are reading Gerry Ebbers’ last article as the development consultant for SCSBC. Gerry’s retirement from the Society of Christian Schools marks the end of a decade of service with this organization. More importantly, it marks the closing of a chapter as Gerry also retires from his lifetime of work in Christian education at many levels and in varied locations.

Gerry began his career in Christian education by serving seventeen years as a high school teacher and then principal in the Edmonton, AB, and Lynden, WA, Christian school systems. As well, Gerry has a wealth of experience in development work, particularly in organizing capital campaigns and planned giving. His first development position was with The King’s University College. He has also served as the Director of Development for Trinity Western University, and for Dordt College, and Executive Director of Elim Housing Society. Gerry has always had a passion for stewardship education, understanding that it is the foundation for all development work. As SCSBC’s Consultant for Stewardship and Development for the past ten years, Gerry came alongside our Christian school boards, development directors, business managers, and community relations and development committees to help them maximize their efforts for the success of their schools.
